In This Review

The ability to sleep something we take for granted until it’s gone. But when it goes, there are things we can do to get it back, such as take a natural sleep aid. If your insomnia is long-term, you might find this statement to be uninformed. After all, as anyone who has tried multiple sleep aids knows: many of them don’t work, or at least as promised. According to homeopaths, finding sleep aids that work depends in part on your body chemistry. But that won’t help to narrow your search. What will, though, is reading about sleep aids you haven’t tried yet. That’s why we’re reviewing Ambiatol, a natural sleep aid by Lab88 that claims to match the insomnia relief of sleep aids such as Xanax, Sonata, and Lunesta, but without the negative side effects.

Ambiatol Ingredients

As you peruse Ambiatol’s active ingredients, you’ll see some familiar names if you’re familiar with natural sleep aids:

  • Vitamin B6 for maintenance of neurotransmitters that facilitate sleep;
  • Valerian Root for relaxation and calmness;
  • Passion Flower for sedation and soothing;
  • Hops for sedation and relaxation; and
  • Melatonin for regulating the sleep-wake cycle

Valerian root, passionflower, hops and melatonin are common in natural sleep aids, but vitamin B6 sticks out. Ambiatol’s website doesn’t specify the vitamin’s effect, but it’s probably for the maintenance of neurotransmitters, particularly serotonin. But there’s a catch: if you can’t sleep well due to low serotonin, vitamin B6 won’t help as much as HTP-5, the metabolic precursor to serotonin. If you can’t sleep well because of stress or jet lag, however, Ambiatol could provide relief. For light insomnia relief, Ambiatol may be effective. But For insomnia help for depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders, a sleep aid with 5-HTP is the better choice.

Does Ambiatol Work?

To find out whether Ambiatol offers insomnia help, we look to its customer reviews. On amazon.com – one of the few sites where legitimate reviews of Ambiatol exist–most reviewers portray Ambiatol as a sleep aid that leaves you awake, or doesn’t work as expected. Other users, however, are more satisfied. Ambiatol contains ingredients that promote sleep. But whether they make Ambiatol one of the sleep aids that work for you is another question. If you experience minor sleep problems and you don’t have a history of insomnia, Ambiatol could help. But if your insomnia doesn’t respond to other sleep aids with Ambiatol’s ingredients, you can expect Ambiatol to have the same effect, unless its vitamin B6 offers more neurotransmitter support than products with lower levels of the vitamin.
